Productive Retreats

What are they?

The IISAAK OLAM Foundation (IOF) offers productive retreats that strengthen capacity, share knowledge, and inspire the creation and growth of Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCAs) across diverse territories and bioregions.

By offering these tailored retreats, IOF continues to bridge knowledge gaps, strengthen intergenerational leadership, and support the development of new IPCAs rooted in Indigenous governance and stewardship.

Who are they for?

IOF’s productive retreats are designed for:

  • Indigenous Nations, governments, and communities exploring various IPCA topics, including establishment and declaration, financing tools, housing and infrastructure, and community engagement.
  • Non-Indigenous organizations such as NGOs, private sector groups, Crown government agencies, and academics who are seeking guidance on how to support IPCAs, be better allies, and adapt their practices to support Ethical Space and decolonial approaches.
