The IISAAK Learning Lodge (formerly known as the Ecolodge) is a 12-room guest house and learning space set within 12 acres of coastal rainforest. The lodge can comfortably host 12 guests in private rooms or up to 20 in shared accommodations.
It includes two suites with private washrooms, four rooms with shared “Jack and Jill” washrooms, and six rooms that use communal washroom facilities.
Guests have access to the lodge’s large classroom (capacity 35), the dining/lounge area (capacity 35), and the commercial kitchen (some restrictions apply).
Guests may also enjoy the Naa’Waya’Sum Gardens during daylight hours at no extra cost.
The IISAAK Learning Lodge has a 3-night minimum booking and must be booked in full (individual rooms are not available). During off-season months, locals may inquire about booking the classroom for the day.
Interested organizations, businesses, and individuals may book the IISAAK Learning Lodge to host programs, retreats, and workshops that align with the mandate of the Clayoquot Campus.
The Clayoquot Campus’ mandate is to support and uphold Indigenous knowledge, worldviews, and governance systems through capacity building and public education.
The IISAAK OLAM Foundation offers various services for groups wishing to book the lodge who do not fully meet the mandate (e.g. territorial welcome, lecture by the totem, introduction to Nuu-chah-nulth culture). Learn more by visiting our Bookings Page.
In 2025, a deep energy retrofit and accessibility upgrade was completed, making the IISAAK Learning Lodge a net-zero energy facility and welcoming to persons of all physical abilities. Read more.
This project was funded in part by the Government of Canada.
It was completed in partnership with RJC Engineers and Farmer Construction Ltd., and with the support of NumberTen Architectural Group, AES Engineering, AME Consulting Group, and Weir Design and Engineering.
