The IISAAK Learning Lodge is a 12 room guest lodge nestled within 10 acres of coastal rainforest. It comfortably sleeps 25 to 30 guests, includes 2 teacher suites and 10 student rooms, and has shared common areas washroom facilities. The indoor classroom has views of the Naa'Waya'Sum Gardens and can be modified to suit various spacial needs, such as a large circle of chairs, open space for movement, rows of seats, movie viewing, etc.
Interested organizations, businesses, and individuals may book the lodge to host programs and retreats that connect to the mandate of the Clayoquot Campus, which is to support Indigenous-led conservation. All groups are welcomed to the IISAAK Learning Lodge with an introduction to Nuu-chah-nulth history, language, culture, and worldviews on conservation.
‘IISAAK’ means to observe, appreciate, and act accordingly and is the highest law in the Nuu-chah-nulth constitution. It is often translated simply as ‘respect’.
